Select a case study:

A medical CT scanner can handle objects with a low percentage of metal, such as the three examples displayed above, and may reveal interesting features. 

But when an object contains too much metal, the x-rays produced by a medical CT scanner are not strong enough to penetrate the metal. It is therefore not appropriate to scan a bronze or a silver object, for instance, with a medical CT scanner.
