The body of this large Kongo (or Bakongo) figure is covered with numerous iron blades and nails which deflect a large proportion of the x-rays. However some x-rays have penetrated the wooden body and yield enough information for us to analyse the contents of the magic charge in the abdomen, behind the umbilical mirror. The headdress has been restored with fragments from the original headdress.
